About this stay
A private lodge-style estate set in the rolling countryside of Coatesville, on 1.25 hectares of manicured grounds. Its centrepiece is the infinity-edge pool complete with a fire pit, that was named New Zealand Pool of the Year 2023. Inside are vaulted ceilings, solid masonry and natural timber, a chef’s kitchen, and six bedrooms with six bathrooms. Outside, a covered loggia with an open fireplace looks over the lawns and a tranquil pond. It’s 30 minutes from Auckland and a world away from it.
You arrive through a grand entrance foyer, and the vaulted ceilings set the tone straight away. This is a home built on a generous scale, using solid masonry, natural timbers and reclaimed detailing, with light pouring through every room.
The open-plan living area is the heart of the house. It flows from a chef’s kitchen with a full scullery straight out to the outdoor entertaining areas. It’s made for long breakfasts, slow dinners and large groups who still want room to spread out.
Six bedrooms and six bathrooms mean everyone gets their own space:
Outside is where the estate really shines. The pool was named New Zealand Pool of the Year 2023, and its infinity edge seems to dissolve into the countryside beyond. Beside it, the covered area with electric louvres and an open fireplace means evenings outdoors carry on well past sunset, whatever the season. Around it all are established gardens, open lawns and a tranquil pond.
